Tips for Choosing Wedding Decorations

The first thing that guests notice when they attend a wedding ceremony or reception are the decorations. Therefore, every bride and groom wants to have the decorations very attractive, memorable and to have these represent the interests or the couple.

Usually, the task of choosing the wedding decorations is delegated to the bride and the female members of the family and entourage. However, it is still preferred that the groom should also help in conceptualizing the decorations to be used for the wedding.

Here are some aspects to consider when deciding on what decorations to be used in the wedding:

* Mood

Will the wedding be formal or casual? Do you want it to be traditional or contemporary? This will help in deciding what candles, flowers, balloons, and other venue enhancements will you be needing.

* Color Scheme

Consider the main color to be used for the decorations. This may be the couple’s favorite color, a color that can be associated with their hobby or the color that is preferred during the season. Make sure that the color of the decorations will go well with what the members of the entourage and the guests will be wearing.

* Site

Take pictures of the wedding site as early as possible so that you can check the pictures while considering a decorating idea.

* Time

Usually, decorations can only be set at the church and at the reception within one to two hours before the event. Therefore, you must consider decorations that don’t take much time to mount. Also, these decorations should also be taken down right after the event.

* Guests

Consider how many will attend the wedding reception and how big is the site. With the number of guests that you will be having, can you still set-up bigger decorations that will take some floor space?

If you have a large number of guests, you may just want to set-up floor decorations near the stage and dance floor where most of the program will take place. Also, you might want to opt for smaller but finely detailed table decorations.

Also consider if there will be kids who will be attending the wedding reception. Kids may get bored during the program and start playing with the decorations that can cause an unsightly mess. So you may just get decorations that are not so fragile.

Another tip, if you will be having several kids as guests, you may have a kids area, where they can mingle with other kids and where the decorations and food are more suited for their age.

* Budget

Improperly chosen decorating ideas will not look well even if these cost much. Also, choosing just two or three decorating ideas, as long as these are implemented well can make a ceremony and reception look lavish.

Also, it is not necessary to buy every item that will be used as decorations. Some professional decorators can give you information on vases, mirrors, table centerpieces, dried flower arrangements, arc ways, pedestals and plants that will only be used for one day.

With these, just adding a few candles, laces and fresh flowers will make your wedding site and reception exquisite.

A final budgeting advice, check with the wedding rite venue director if there are other weddings that will take place during the day. If so, you may want to coordinate with the couple that will be using the venue before or after you. The may agree with your decorating ideas or add some of their own, and agree to just split the decorating expenses with you.

Tips for Sticking to a Wedding Budget

Budget concerns can be one of the most major sources of arguments for a couple when planning their wedding. The couple may have different concepts about what kind of wedding they desire and also about what they can afford. It is important for the couple to discuss their fiscal limits before the wedding planning goes too far.

The first step is to have a talk on budget constraints before planning the wedding. This ensures that both the bride and the groom are well aware of the finances that should be allocated to the wedding, and not go overboard.

Another tip for setting a budget and sticking to it is to start saving early for your marriage. Putting aside a little of each paycheck for awhile can add up to a large saving that may be used for your wedding. This forward-thinking way of planning and saving will permit you to maximise the budget that is available to you for your marriage planning.

Once the budget has been set, put it aside for a few days and then review it again. This gives time for the couple to accept the budget, and to ensure that they understand it. This is significant because if a partner does not agree with the budget, they might be sure to overspend in one area, leaving the budget in jeopardy. It is also necessary to partition a bit of cash for incidentals to account for little surprising costs.

In building a budget it is advised that both parties be certain about who will be paying for what items. As an example, if the groom’s family offers to pay for the centerpieces and you opt to let them, this will permit you to divert your formerly chosen centerpiece budget to other parts of the wedding. The key to sticking to your marriage budget is to be conscious of who has agreed to pay for what.

It is imperative that budgets for each individual part of the wedding be established to allow you to follow this next tip.

This tip recommends the couple to be aware of their budgets for each individual part of the wedding before negotiating contracts for services. If you know that you have allotted 0 for entertainment you would be sensible to search out a DJ that is offering his services for roughly that amount and then barter your contract to make sure that you remain within the constraints.

Doing as many things as you can on your own is an alternative way to making sure that you are sticking to your financial position. Crafts and homemade invites can greatly reduce the price of your wedding. As an example, making your own favors or centerpieces can seriously cut back your costs and free up further cash for other areas of the wedding.

Another tip for sticking to your budget is to not view the budget as restrictive. Instead, think of the wondrous and creative things you can come up within that budget.

Yet another tip for sticking to your wedding budget is to try a few shops and compare shops for services. A limo company may come strongly recommended but if they are not in your price range, do not hold back; allow them to know why you are going to need to select another company and you can be confounded at how shortly they are prepared to give you a different offer.

A last tip for making and sticking to a budget is to notice that there are sure to be snags along the way. So long as you remain cognizant of your expenditure and realize the implications of your actions, you are probably going to notice that if you go over budget in one area, you will need to change other areas by reducing their total budget.

A wedding budget could be a serious factor for emotional strain on a couple. It is important for them to discuss their finances clearly and sincerely, and create a budget for their wedding plans.

Important Tips On Shooting A Beach Wedding From An Hobbiest Point Of View. Get The Best Beach Wedding Photography When Invited To A Beach Weddingd

There are many things to remember when invited to a wedding on the beautiful beaches of the emerald coast of Destin Fl and the surrounding areas. But the most important is Batteries. You camera Will NOt work with out them. As a professional beach wedding photographer I spend contless hours watching hobbiest take photo’s at beach wedding and most of the time witness them “shooting” the photo all wrong. In the following article I will provide many tips to help capture the best beach wedding photo to maybe give to the new couple as a wedding gift.

First lets talk about gear  ….. camera’s. Here are my do’s:: Do bring the new DLSR you bought especially for the wedding with the 2 lens and the big flash and the oversized sling backpack.  Don’t bring it to the actual ceremony!!!! What then why did I buy the fancy new Nikon!!! Trust me you are going to a wedding on the Emerald coast of Florida there will be 100′s of photo’s to take before the ceremony and after. But remember that “during” the ceremony you have been invited as a guest NOT TO WORK so act like a guest. If you would like to bring a small point and shoot to quickly and discreetly take a photo of the groom and bride and maybe the kiss that is great. Or better yet turn the volume off on your phone and use the camera on it.

During the ceremony pay close attention to the professional photographer. where is he/she standing – or they standing squatting lying on the sand? Are they moving fast to capture a quick smile or slowing “grabbing” every emotion. The reason to watch the photographer is because the photographers of the Sunshine state in Destin, Panama City, Navarre are use to the beach. they work countless hours on the beaches of Destin shooting beach weddings working with event planners and they know the right angel and the correct shot to capture.

after the ceremony go ahead and grab your big fancy new Nikon {we all know you didn’t leave it in the room} and take photo’s tons of them work the crowd get candid shots of the moms and the uncles and the kids running all over the beach. Take a few photo’s of some local beach goers. But do not go within 100 feet of the professional. It is fine to “watch” from a distance” to again gather tips of the trade. But whatever you do do not shadow or shoot the same poses. If and this is a big if!!! there is time after the photo shoot ask politely if  few shots can be made for your studio. If not that’s fine go to the reception and blast away once again grabbing those candid moments.

To summarize – - Do bring your big Fancy Nikon {just not to the beach wedding ceremony} Do Not get in the way of the professional – and remember you are there as a guest let the hired help have a chance to do their jobs………and do not forget to have someone take a photo of you with a sunset on the beautiful beaches of the emerald coast.

Tips For Wedding Planning Checklist

A marriage planning tick list is a handy tool for any bride to have when referring to planning her marriage.It essentially lets her know what she has to do and when she should do it, by way of an itemized list of tasks to be finished at diverse stages all though her marriage planning phase.

These checklists are readily available from sources like marriage sites, marriage directories and bridal mags. Generally they’ll follow a common template which should cover an average eighteen month planning period and list jobs suited to a standard white marriage – either civil or spiritual. Downloading a free marriage planning list from the web should give you the power to edit it to fit your marriage plans and the period in which you need to plan your marriage.

You might also copy a tick list from a mag onto your personal computer and edit it appropriately.Having a hard copy on your PC will permit you to edit it further as you progress thru your wedding planning and to print out additional copies as you want them. The web has given brides to access to a treasure house of free marriage planning tools and info, the most crucial of these being the marriage planning tick list. No bride should try to plan her marriage without one and over the course of her planning she’ll find it an handy tool.

A wedding planning tick list will detail each task and component that must be done when organizing a marriage over a certain time-frame. They’ll include jobs like finding a reception locale, selecting the marriage stationery and picking up the marriage cake.

The best checklists will go into serious detail including everything from selecting the bridesmaids accessories to having a trial run of your hair and makeup. A basic tick list will include the bare bones like setting the date thru to buying marriage favors.

Mags will most likely carry a marriage planning section which has a planning tick list for you to chop out and keep. Regularly these are reasonably common and will only include the bare minimum of jobs required to concoct a marriage successfully. Should they run a marriage planning special, then the tick list might be more detailed and all-inclusive. Marriage sites will offer free checklists which you can download and save on your P. C. This gives you a customizable list which you then print out and edit as frequently as required.

Many checklists are common and will cover an eighteen month time frame.

You might imagine they are all of the some but they don’t seem to be so it is crucial to compare a few before deciding on the right one for you. It is also crucial that you select one from a convincing source as the checklist will be more trustworthy and will generally have been created by someone that knows one or two things about planning a marriage. Share your marriage on online marriage forums asking all about good checklists if you’re at all doubtful of where to look. Other brides are a useful source of recommendation and inspiration and can steer you to the best resources.

When you find a list you like you may potentially have to edit it to fit with you marriage and the time-frame you have until your big day. Arm yourself with a calendar and ensure you know all of the vital dates you have prepared this far.Don’t mess about with the tick list too much, it’ll have be written to make sure that those elements which are time vital like your marriage catering and cake, are handled at the proper time.

So do not feel tempted to order your marriage cake twelve months before your big day – it is going to be rancid by the point the day arrives! Save a copy on your personal computer and then print copies for yourself and people who ought to have a copy , for example your groom, your maid of honour, your mom and perhaps your marriage planner if you’re not using one for your complete marriage planning. Also pin a copy onto your notice board so that you can quickly reference it should you want to.

Tips for Buying and Selling a Preowned Wedding Dress

In today’s tough economic times everyone is looking to cut corners a little bit and save a dollar here or there, even modern brides. Using or selling a preowned wedding dress is now considered in style because it can literally save a bride hundreds of dollars and even earn her a little extra after her big day. Here are the many options for wedding dresses previously owned.

Some brides feel better and want to wear a brand new dress to walk down the aisle in. There is nothing wrong with this. While a new dress will cost anywhere from seven hundred dollars to ten thousand dollars and once the dress is worn it can be sold as a preowned wedding dress, that way some money will be earned back from the dress. Good places to sell a wedding dress that has been worn include listing the dress in local classifieds advertisements or selling the dress through an online wedding shop. Both options are great, however, with an online wedding shop you list your dress and they do all the work to advertise it for you in order to get you the best deal. In local classified listings you actually have to do the work to get potential buyers to look at or purchase your dress. Either way is a good option to make a little back on your dress.

You can also sell your dress to a local consignment store. This won’t earn you a lot of money, but it is a small step up from flat out donating your dress. This method is faster than listing your dress online or through a classified, but again probably won’t earn you as much.

If you are a bride that doesn’t mind wearing a preowned dress to tie the knot then you can save a lot of money. Previously owned wedding dresses can be purchased for as little as one hundred to five hundred dollars, a large savings compared to the price of a new dress. Like new wedding dresses, make sure to budget in alteration costs as chances are they will be necessary since no two people have the exact same body shape. Unlike a new wedding dress, you may also want to budget in dry cleaning costs. Don’t be alarmed if the previously owned wedding dress that catches your eye has a few stains, a good dry cleaning should be able to fix most stains. Even with the costs of alterations and dry cleaning factored in, you will still be able to save a pretty penny buying a preowned wedding dress as opposed to buying a new wedding dress where you will still incur some of these costs on top of an already very large price tag.

When looking for a preowned dress, look many places and give yourself plenty of time. It is naturally harder to find the perfect previously owned wedding dress as they won’t come in various sizes. Good places to look include your local consignment stores, local classifieds and online wedding stores. Online wedding stores are great because you can search by location, size, style, designer and more. You can also search for bridesmaid dresses on websites such as this. Also, try asking family and friends, you may be surprised, someone might have something you can wear or know someone who has a preowned wedding dress that would be perfect for you.

Fabulous Tips For Any Amateur Wedding Photographer

So, you enjoy taking pictures and surprisingly, you are pretty good at capturing those perfect shots. Photography is just a hobby for you, but you really enjoy it, and you were excited when your friend, THE BRIDE, asked if you would be willing to take her wedding photos to help save her some money on the overall cost of her wedding day. Of course, you agree to do it, but now you are having second thoughts. Where do you begin? What photos are traditionally taken at a wedding? How do you get everyone to cooperate? Well, here are some great tips to ensure that your first wedding photo shoot doesn’t turn into a disaster!

Have the bride and groom make a “shot” list. No, I don’t mean a list of their favorite drinking shots; I mean a list of the photography shots they want to be sure to have taken on their big day. Here are some wedding photo shot examples: bride with mother, bride with maid of honor, bride and groom with bride’s maternal grandparents, etc. You will want them to be as specific as possible and then go over it with them to make sure they didn’t leave anyone out. A wedding day “shot” list will also give you something to check off as you take each picture. Be careful not to let the list cramp your creativity, just use it to ensure that everyone of significance to the bride and groom get in a picture with them.
Get a wedding day photo coordinator. Have the bride and groom elect someone who can help you round up and identify family members and friends that need to be photographed. Give this person permission to be bossy and allow them to direct the photo shoot. For instance you could say to them, “Hey, I think I’m ready for the bride’s grandparents now.” And then send them on their way to round them up. This will save you the hassle of doing a lot of running around and will help you be able to keep an eye on your equipment at all times.
Scout and test shoot the location. If you find out the happy couple is having a sunny, beach side ceremony or an intimate, evening reception at a nearby winery, you may want to visit the location and take a couple of test shots during the time of day the ceremony or reception will actually be being held. This will help you become more familiar with the lighting and the surroundings of that particular location to ensure that you have a much better shoot.
Be prepared. In wedding photography, preparation is extremely important, so be sure to have plenty of back up batteries, film, and/or a back up memory card. It might even be smart to invest in or borrow a second camera, just in case something happens to your primary one. This day is only going to happen once, and in weddings there are no re-shoots, so you have to be prepared to make sure you don’t miss a beat!
Get an idea of what the couple is expecting. Show them some examples of your work and spend some time truly trying to understand exactly what the couple is wanting. Do they want a lot of shots of just them? Are they really into details like the flowers and decorations and do they want several pictures of those?  How long do they expect you to stay with them? These are the questions you need to ask to familiarize yourself with what they want from you as their wedding photographer.
Be Bold. You’re a fool if you think you’ll be the only person there with a camera. There will be tons of family members and friends with cameras trying to capture the happy occasion as well, but you need to remember that the bride and groom are paying you and they expect you to get the best shot of a particular pose or event during the wedding. So, don’t be afraid to ask the couple or whoever else is in the picture to move or turn a certain way to ensure that you get a great shot. You should be insistent that you be the first one to photograph cutting the cake or the best man giving his speech. You should make everyone else at the wedding work around you, and you should not have to work around them and their personal cameras. Don’t be too timid and speak up, that is the best way to ensure that you get the best shot every time.
